Why, How, and What

Updated: Jan 29, 2019

I know that I want big changes to happen in my classroom for my students and myself. Turning my classroom into one in which COVA is the foundation will open a new world of learning to myself and my students. Before I do this though, I'd like to reflect on my own why, how and what in terms of goals I have for this new pedagogical approach to learning.

Why: I believe my students have the right to an education where they learn how to become lifelong learners who enjoy learning through authentic and personalized lessons and projects.

How: This will be achieved through the implementation of a CSLE (creating a significant learning environment) in which students have choice, ownership, and voice via authentic learning opportunities (COVA).

What: Prepare students to adapt to an ever changing digital world that will require them to be self- directed and self-taught leaders that grow and learn from self-reflection and collaboration.

My Core Purpose: Use COVA to mentor students into becoming lifelong capable learners
