Being a digital leader requires one to be equipped with certain tools. Of course, s/he needs to be privy to the best and most useful digital tools and resources to share with others, have impeccable listening and communication skills, and have a strong working knowledge of research and digital citizenship.
One very important aspect as well though is modeling the behaviors and characteristics of being a lifelong digital learner to others. One way to do this is through the use of an ePortfolio. In the ePortfolio we can share our ideas, research, growth, reflections, links, best practices and so much more. Inspiring others to create and actively use an ePortfolio is easier to accomplish when we ourselves have an ePortfolio that showcases our learning to the world at large. Those who aren't using an ePortfolio yet, can easily see the powerful tool it can be for them; thus, the ePortfolio becomes a critical part in one's continued growth in digital leadership.
